Challenge

Having just signed the papers for the purchase of a 50-year-old B-to-B services company, the new owner and investor turned to 5280 Accelerator to create a Quick-Start Marketing Plan to help them develop a roadmap to hit the ground running. In just 25 business days, we renamed the business, designed a new logo and branding, and completed a relaunch plan. In another 15 business days we designed and launched their new website. Altogether, they were ready to meet their customers and generate new business in 40 business days!

Solution

  • We helped them clarify their growth goals to expand both geographically and in target markets to triple their revenue in 3 years. We also identified future potential partners for continued expansion in later years.
  • We defined their internal strengths and weaknesses, outlined their external threats, and uncovered untapped opportunities.
  • After identifying the profile of the target buyer, we created messaging that would appeal to their desires and needs.
  • Our team established their brand attributes to enable the formation of a compelling name/URL, logo and website, affordably and in a very tight timeframe.

Results

Initially the owner and investor felt it would cost too much and take too much time to consider renaming the company. However, 5280 Accelerator recognized the name was difficult to spell and the URL was not obvious – presenting a deficit when reaching new markets in the digital age. Given their expansion goals to go to new geographies and new industries and the fact that they had already decided to re-design the logo, 5280 Accelerator explained that the re-launch was the most opportune time to give the company a new name that was clear and tied to a strong URL.

The client was very grateful saying, “All the credit goes to you. You saw what we needed even when we couldn’t see it. We appreciate that you stuck with it to show us a better answer. We’re very happy with the new name and logo and thoroughly enjoyed the process. We especially liked how, in each of the meetings, you laid out a clear agenda with expectations for decisions you needed from us and what our next steps would be. We’ve really enjoyed working with the 5280 team.”
